Acute Pain Strategies for Surgical Patients: Ultrasound Guided Regional Analgesia Updates and Buprenorphine Webinar by Konica Minolta
Using regional anesthesia to manage acute pain in surgical patients provides numerous patient benefits, including faster rehabilitation/discharge, fewer adverse events and unplanned hospital admissions, and a decrease in the reliance of opioid medications. Ultrasound guidance reduces OR time, decreases complications, and increases patient comfort and satisfaction.

The frequency of patients presenting for surgical procedures who are prescribed buprenorphine present additional challenges to the anesthesiology team in regard to postoperative analgesic management. Studies suggest that buprenorphine, a partial mu-opioid agonist used to treat pain and opioid addiction, is effective in treating acute and chronic pain. This webinar will cover many of the benefits of using buprenorphine in conjunction with ultrasound-guided regional analgesia as components of an acute pain strategy for surgical patients.
